BOOK:
Jonas,
in THE GIVER, unravels many mysteries in the process of bringing back
collective memories. In his horrible
world, where knowledge is forbidden, we see a whole society devolve to a much
lower state of vibration. This book was
written for young adults,--- and indeed was a school textbook for my son, Jake,
a few years ago ---, but it is a very instructive read for adults, too. The importance of WORDS is emphasized, and
ties in with the on-going FUTHORK project of the Kangaroo poets. The significance of COLOUR ties in with
Kangaroo poet JHM’s work with auras, chakras, and the research of Rudolf Steiner
and others. My people perish because they
hate knowledge, says Hosea -- and this book demonstrates that process
-- the process which the church calls the fall of man. The downfall of our species has always been
that there are persons who create twisted mysteries out of simple principles so
that the confused average person finds it next to impossible to raise his/her
consciousness. On the other hand, we
HAVE been advised not to cast our pearls before swine, and there are many
people determined to be swine. The plot
of this book is based on the postulate that a physical change in humanity can
be acquired by learning it [or, in this case, unlearning the ability to see colours]. This is very much in accord with my essay On
the Hardness of Hearing.
