[DJ,DZ]ITEM DZ01...BAHA’U’LLAH [THE MESSIAH] Baha’is of Canada $15
Baha’u’llah (1817-1892)
was a Persian who claimed direct descent from Abraham, Zoroaster, and Jesse
(King David’s father) and that he was the legitimate Sassanid King. On May 2, 1863, he also first claimed to be
the promised Messiah of six major religions, specifically fulfilling:
1]the expectations of
Jews for an incarnation of the Everlasting Father [Isaiah 9:6]
2]the expectations of
Christians for an incarnation of the Comforter [John 14]
3]Zoroastrianism’s
expectation of an incarnation of Varjavand
4]Shiite Islam’s
expectation of an incarnation of Imam Hasayn
5]Sunni Islam’s
expectation of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ [called Isa in their religion
– this is a belief they currently more fervently hold than the Christians who
also await the Second Coming], and
6]Babism’s expectation
of “He whom God shall make manifest”.
Baha’u’llah did not
himself claim, but his followers do, that he was the tenth and final
incarnation of Hinduism’s God Vishnu and that he was Maitreya Buddhism’s
prophesied Dharmic Buddha.
Baha’u’llah spent
almost half a century in jail, exile or house arrest, during which time he
wrote prolifically, producing triple the sacred writing produced by all six of
his messianic religions combined – more than 15,000 items were written [only a
small fraction has been translated into English to date]. Although his exile or imprisonment was
occasionally under harsh conditions, it was generally under far better
conditions than other prisoners because Baha’u’llah was in receipt of political
support at the ambassadorial level from the psychics and spiritualists of the
Russian royal court and from the English squawk centred on Cambridge University
[those two groups being the ultimate source of today’s New Age movement]. He corresponded with major world leaders,
Pope Pius IX being one of those who rejected official conversion to the new
religion.
Baha’u’llah fostered a
one-world government for peace and prosperity, disarmament, the unification of
all religions, the renunciation of materialism, the conciliation of civil
disputes, enlightenment, tolerance, and love.
Although he was physically the fulfillment of all messiahships,
henceforth everyone can be spiritually their own messiah. Thus, Baha’u’llah is truly the First Prophet
of the New Age.
This book is a brief
highlighting and summary of Baha’u’llah’s teachings, prepared by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is
of Canada for propaganda purposes on the 100th anniversary of
their god’s death. Resurrection is not
currently anticipated.
