QUIZ NOTES: BERNHARDT, one of 3 Poets convicted of murder [the others: Paul and Rabin], was interested in the reference to strychnine as an ingredient of peyote, and pointed to its poisonous similarity to arsenic, to which the real Jack the Ripper was addicted, as the down-side of the peyote experience, since every force contains its opposite; good contains evil; light contains darkness; and this containing-the-opposite in the material world has been documented by James Churchward and others.

CATEGORY QD [HOLY GRAIL]

[QD,]ITEM XZ19a...HOLY BLOOD, HOLY GRAIL Baigent, Leigh & Lincoln $10

1983 pb, ISBN 0440136482

Based on ancient documents found in France around the turn of the century, HOLY BLOOD, HOLY GRAIL confronts and challenges traditional Christian beliefs. The authors' alternative view of Christian history asserts that Jesus may not have perished on the cross, but instead may have lived to marry and father children whose lineage continues today.  Is it possible Christ did not die on the cross?  Is it possible Jesus was married, a father, and that his bloodline still exists?  Is it possible that parchments found in the South of France a century ago reveal one of the best-kept secrets of Christendom?  Is it possible that these parchments contain the very heart of the mystery of the Holy Grail?
According to the authors of this extraordinarily provocative, meticulously researched book, not only are these things possible — they are probably true! so revolutionary, so original, so convincing, that the most faithful Christians will be moved; here is the book that has sparked worldwide controversy.  "Enough to seriously challenge many traditional Christian beliefs, if not alter them." [Los Angeles Times Book Review}
"Like Chariots of the Gods?...the plot has all the elements of an international thriller." [Newsweek]

This is a 49 page booklet translated from Spanish by UNESCO, the publisher; 1965 6th printing of the 1958 original.  Condition: acceptable; some pages loose; minor markings.  Chapter Titles: …General observations on racial prejudices and myths …The myth of blood and of the inferiority of crossbreeds …Colour prejudice: the Negro myth …The Jewish myth …The myth of Aryan or Nordic superiority.

About the author:  Juan Comas was born in a Spain of 1900 which was faced with social and political turmoil that would shape his work. At seventeen he received his first degree in Arts and Sciences, followed soon by several pedagogical degrees from prestigious universities in the country. Because of his academic achievements, The High Counsel of Scientific Investigation of Spain sent him to Geneva to continue his research in anthropology.  While at the Institute Rousseau, he published several times.  After time off to work for the Republicans during the civil war in Spain, Juan Comas received his Doctoral degree in Anthropological Sciences in 1942.  He could, however, not return to Spain where Franco, leading the Nationalists, had won the civil war and had placed Comas’ name on the exiled persons list.  Juan Comas was a pioneer of that which he criticized:  the now-prevalent school of pedagogy which holds that a professor must impart and advocate a political agenda imbedded within his science teaching.
